Main functions: To melt and pour aluminum into molds for the production of parts as per Standard Manufacturers Services Ltd’s policies and procedures.
Duties:
- Operates and monitors foundry furnaces used to melt aluminum.
- Fluxes and skims molten aluminum.
- Setups and operates tilt pours to cast aluminum parts.
- Follow casting work package procedures.
- Handles ladle molten aluminum into molds.
- Removes aluminum castings from molds.
- Visually inspects castings for non-conformance to ensure the quality of castings is produced.
- Reports any issues that might affect production to the supervisor.
- Finishing of casting through saw cutting and sanding procedures for gate removal.
- Completes work package documentation.
- Clean work areas and equipment.
- Support Standard Manufacturers Services Ltd’s Lean initiative.
Working Conditions/ Physical Capabilities:
- Shift 4 days a week 10 hours a day (Days or Afternoons).
- Repetitive tasks.
- Handling heavy loads up to 50 pounds.
- Physically demanding.

- Hand-eye co-ordination.

- Must be able to work as part of a team.
Employment Requirements:
- High School preferred but not required.
- Good understanding of the English language both verbal and written.
- On-the-job training is provided.
